Tantaline Overview
The mission of Tantaline® is simple: To help businesses, who work with highly corrosive acids, be more competitive and/or meet their project goals. We achieve this by producing the most corrosion resistant material commercially available, enabling leading manufacturers and some of today’s most cutting-edge technologies to reduce costs, increase productivity, and improve safety. A private corporation, Tantaline’s
U.S. headquarters are in Waltham, Massachusetts with additional presence in Europe. Current industry expertise includes chemical processing, mining, oil and gas, energy, and pharmaceuticals.
Who We Are:
Tantaline is the world’s leading producer of tantalum surface alloys for valves, fittings, instrumentation, and custom products in hot acid environments.
What We Do:
We provide the most corrosion resistant material commercially available today through the use of tantalum. Pure tantalum (Ta) is an element and also one of the most corrosion resistant metals, but because of its extremely high cost, widespread use of tantalum has been limited and therefore reserved for only the most corrosive applications. Our technology gives engineers, manufacturers, and suppliers access to the benefits and chemical properties of pure tantalum metal at a fraction of the cost.
How We Do It:
Through our tantalum vapor technology, we can create a tantalum surface alloy on almost any leading OEM part (standard steel valves, fittings, instrumental, and thousands of other types). It’s not a coating. It’s not a spray. The tantalum vapor creates an alloy bond on the part’s surface, becoming a true surface alloy. The result is an entirely new product that is extremely rugged and durable, but that also maintains the original OEM part’s size and shape and has the same chemical properties and corrosion resistance as a pure tantalum part.
Who Is It For?
Anyone who works with hot acids, highly corrosive chemicals, and/or whose process requires specialty metals (i.e. nickel alloy, titanium, zirconium, and tantalum) or fluoropolymers.
For engineers, Tantaline can reduce costs, increase productivity, improve safety, and extend the life of valves, fittings, and instrumentation by delivering the most corrosion resistant material commercially available (with superior corrosion performance and affordability compared to nickel alloys, titanium, and zirconium metals).
For OEM suppliers/manufacturers, Tantaline provides access to the preeminent level of the specialty metal market with the most corrosion resistant material commercially available. Manufacturers/suppliers of stainless or standard steel can now enter the specialty metal market with no capital investment needed, while manufacturers, who already utilize specialty metals, can now offer upgrades from stainless or standard steel (using the most corrosion resistant material) without the need for costly specialty metal inventories. |
