Relationship brings together leader in corrosion resistance technology with leading coupling manufacturer; application for nuclear power plants

Tantaline, a leading producer of tantalum surface alloys for valves, fittings, instrumentation, and custom products in hot acid environments, today announced a new alliance with PT Coupling, the leading manufacturer of cam and groove style hose couplings. The relationship provides those who work with hot acids (including hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid), highly corrosive chemicals, and/or whose applications require superior corrosion performance a higher performing, readily available, and cost competitive alternative to specialty metal couplings.
“Tantaline’s alliance with PT Coupling is great news for those that require corrosion resistant couplings. The corrosive nature of many applications necessitates the use of specialty metals, but cost and quantity requirements can often make it challenging for engineers,” said Dean Gambale, CEO, Americas for Tantaline. “Tantaline/PT Coupling products are not only the most corrosion resistant couplings commercially available; they can also help reduce costs, increase productivity, and extend the life of couplings in severe environments, including nuclear power plants.”
As part of the new alliance, PT Coupling’s entire line of stainless steel cam and groove couplings, adapters, and specialty fittings are now available to be Tantaline-treated. In this process, the part is treated with Tantaline’s innovative tantalum vapor technology, resulting in the most corrosion resistant couplings commercially available. The Tantaline-treated acid resistant couplings are priced competitively to nickel alloys (like Hastelloy-C), providing a cost-effective and higher performing option for engineers and manufacturers, independent of quantity.
“Tantaline’s collaboration with PT Coupling is great news for the coupling industry. The corrosive nature of many applications necessitates the use of specialty metals, but cost and quantity requirements can often make it challenging for engineers and manufacturers,” said Dean Gambale, CEO, Americas for Tantaline. “Tantaline/PT Coupling products are not only the most corrosive resistant coupling commercially available; they can also help reduce costs, increase productivity, and extend the life of couplings in severe environments.”
“One of the most important values of PT Coupling is our commitment to fulfill all of the needs of our customers, and this alliance with Tantaline enables us to do just that. Tantaline’s fast, easy, and cost-effective corrosion resistant technology allows us to offer our customers our entire product line with Tantaline’s tantalum surface alloy,” said Richard Kirtley, national sales manager for PT Coupling. “Best of all, we now have couplings with the industry’s highest performing corrosion resistance at a competitive cost.”
