Part of what makes Tantaline’s process unique is our ability to utilize standard off-the-shelf products from various manufacturers and maintain the original parts dimensions and tolerances of those part.
We are able to achieve this by first removing 0.002” or 50 microns of stainless steel by machining and/or our by an etching process. By removing 0.002" or 50 microns of material before applying a similar tantalum metal we are able to maintain net shape of the part.
Inital maching/etching will add on costs to the overall process, but offers has a graet advantage of short lead-time, as a the base parts can be sourced from stock in staed of being specially made.
