Part of what makes Tantaline’s process unique is our ability to utilize standard off the shelf products from various manufacturers and maintain the original parts dimensions and tolerances of those part. We are able to achieve this through our tolerance etching process. We do this by first removing 0.002” or 50 microns of stainless steel from the part in our process. Note both internal and external surfaces are etched of the washer. Once this etching process is complete we then grow 0.002" or 50 microns of tantalum metal into and on top of the part in our process. The net effect is that all dimensions both internal and external remain unchanged.
It is this process that allows us to use standard commercially available parts as our feedstock, keep our lead-times short and offer a wide range of products.
